Self described local food nerd with an intense desire to shorten the food chain for various reasons (which include keeping ag viable, encouraging open spaces, strengthening the local economy, giving people better access to local food, being more independent from the industrial food chain, improving the food network in case of emergency, and being responsible for less petroleum products to grow/process/package/refrigerate/deliver food from afar.)
Currently working on www.jeffersongrown.org, www.clallamgrown.org and www.chimacum.org and very interested in encouraging a younger set to the peninsula. I have a young son and I'd like him to have the option to stay here when he's old enough to leave the nest.
My focus on local food is where all my interests, beliefs and skills converge. Finally I have something I can give my life to, ego free, all for the cause, working toward something I can never regret. It's nice to be part of something that is virtually impossible to argue against, and once people "get it", they start making better choices.
batchild! Hey, how was the Chimacum farmer's market Sunday? Had hoped to go for opening day, but didn't make it. Lots of sellers? Lots of buyers? I am really excited about this; it will truly give me an option within biking distance from home. Thanks for your good work...I'd love to hear your thoughts!
Hi! Welcome to RR! What do you think? I like your page. We're meeting tonight at Siren's 5-7 if you can make it to discuss potential projects and network and drink beers. Come and bring a friend!
